Pickled Garlic

Particularly tasty to spice up a winter salad.

 

Ingredients:

450g garlic

950ml water

1 tbsp salt

Bay leaves

Black peppercorns

240ml vinegar

120ml water

35g sugar

Method:


  1. Peel the garlic

  2. Boil the salt and 950ml of water, then add the garlic and continue to boil for 5 mins, then drain.

  3. Fill small jars with the garlic, 1 bay leaf and 5 peppercorns.

  4. Boil the vinegar and 120ml water and sugar until sugar has dissolved.

  5. Pour mixture over garlic and immediately close and seal jars.
